I saw a film once where a mountain rescuer was holding the hand of a climber suspended from a rope over a ravine. He finally lost his grip and the climber fell thousands of feet to his death. I am haunted sometimes by that image. But I always see the image differently - I am the rescuer and when I look down at the person I am rescuing, I see myself suspended from my own hand as I gradually lose my grip...

Hi Stu. Even though you wrote this review some time ago, it's only now that I have read it.
If Richard Dawkins is the man I think he is, I dont have much respect for him because of the couple of interviews I have seen of him. He basically dismisses any concept of there ever being a God. He leaves no room for any error on his part.
He claims that on such-n-such date God died. He cites the date of the publication of Darwins book on evolution as the demise of God. His blinkers on God I find offensive, so your review has a certain bitter taste BUT I believe that religions should be irrelivant as they are man-made and in some cases don't even reflect God's intentions.
No matter what field we tend to use as an example, man will always distort the facts to suit his on agenda. Religion is no different.
Don't be too swayed by Dawkin's hatred of God. Look around you and see what a wonderful world we HAD created for us, and there you will see God's hand. Look how, until we stuffed it up, the land, sea, air and creatures interacted with one another. Life was simple and direct. Then came man and his distructive ways.
Even though you can't see God doesn't mean that He can't see you.
Talk to you soon my friend
